Just as you need to keep your skin
protected under a decent SPF, the
same goes for your locks, especially
if your hair is lighter. Keeping a subtle,
sunkissed blonde shade like Gwyneth’s is all
about protecting it. The key is to use a UVA/UVB
spray. Kérastase Soleil Micro-Voile Protecteur,
£17.90 (0800-316 4400), also keeps humidityinduced
frizz at bay – just spray on to towel-dried
hair. Sitting in the sun will also weaken hair,
so try boosting the strength of your locks
after exposure with Lait Richesse, £21.30, which
contains oils that will seal frayed, heat-damaged
hair. You can also try having some shine-boosting
professional treatments to lock that colour
in. Paolo Nunti (aka the Hair Healer) has
introduced the Shine Injection
treatment at London’s
Neville salon. He opens up
follicles with a pair of
heated tongs and then
covers them with a
protein-rich keratin
treatment, which deeply
penetrates the hair for
20 minutes before being
washed out (this costs
£180 and more information
can be found at nevillehair
andbeauty.net).
I highlight my hair regularly and my blonde hair has the
tendency to go a little brassy during summer. Can you
recommend a way for me to keep the colour glossy and shiny
in the sun?

THE MORNING-
AFTER FACIAL
With the recent addition
of sleek, new day beds on
the roof at Shoreditch
House, east London, you
might say I got a little
over-excited about the
delicious mojitos in the
sunshine and collapsed
a tad worse for wear on
one for 40 winks.
THE COWSHED SPA:
SO GOOD IT COULD PUT
THE BLOODY MARY OUT
OF BUSINESS
Thankfully, I was whipped
into the House’s newly
launched Cowshed Spa
for its Morning-After
treatment: a gorgeous
facial where the therapist
worked some de-puffing
zingy gels into my weary
under-eye area. I then
had a super-hydrating
lymphatic drainage facial,
which firmly toned my skin
and rejuvenated me with
uplifting facial oils, leaving
my face feeling normal
again, without that dreaded
boozy bloat. I reemerged
thinking I might just be able
to face the day, especially
after being handed a shot
of espresso and a muffin,
making me feel like a
human being again.
