I completely sympathise. I feel lost
without my mascara and eyeshadow
if I ever find myself on an impromptu
night out. It just gives you that little
extra something… Sensitive eyes don’t necessarily
have to be a problem – especially with the latest
mineral make-up brands bringing out super gentle
eyeshadows, liners and mascaras. Jane Iredale’s
Lid Primer, £14.22, is a hypoallergenic formula
that will keep your make-up in place and might
even seal the skin to avoid any powders getting
into the eye. Bare Minerals has a fantastic
Eyelining Tutorial Kit, £29, with everything
you need from the eyeshadow and mascara
to brushes, along with definitive instructions
on how to achieve that perfect look. I personally
like to run a liquid liner over the upper lid as
a finishing touch to my smoky eye and Jane
Iredale’s Liquid Liner, £15.63, has a great pen
brush as well as brown shades that will look
good for a warmer bronzy finish if black
is a little too rock’n’roll. Mineral
Eyeshadow by ELF Cosmetics in
Black Licorice, £1.5o, is a dark-grey
shade that suits everyone. But
there’s no reason why sensitive
eyes should stop you from
keeping a bit of edge
to your make-up.

With pepper and
lemon notes, this is
a warm scent that
makes a confident
statement.
I recently had an eye infection and now my eyes are exceptionally
sensitive. My usual make-up look is the smoky eye but I don’t want
to overload my lids with make-up that might irritate. I’m not
a fan of lipsticks and can’t bear to leave my eyes bare when I have
a glamorous night to go to.

JET-LAG
FACIAL
I got off a flight from NY
to find my skin was like
the Sahara so thank God
for Sisley’s new express
jetlag facial (30 mins)
at Selfridges. Sisley
promises to plump up
dehydrated skin with its
natural plant-oil formulas.
There are five facials to
choose from so I went for
the hydrating one. I was

all give this treatment
a spa-like edge despite
the time constraints. I

like I’d had a power-nap.
