Put your
fashion
face on
Covetable palettes have
upped the ante so much
now that fashion houses
are getting in on the act.
On 12 July, Burberry
Beauty is launching
delicious beige and khaki
colours that have been
inspired by its trademark
trenches. Models Rosie
Huntington-Whitely and
Lily Donaldson are
heading up the campaign
to show off those sexy,
pared-down shades we
British beauties wear so
well, but if you’re feeling a
little more ooh la la, get in
line for Dior’s new limited
edition Tailleur Bar palette,
due out in August. It’s embossed with
a chic, Twenties fashionista wearing
the iconic Dior Bar suit – think tiny
nipped-in waist and full skirt – while
strolling along Paris’ Left Bank. The
grey and violet shades of the palette
are signature Dior, and luckily they’re
also really wearable on the eyes
– assuming you can bear to break into
this gorgeous work of art. Make sure

you get yourself on the waiting list
though – only 150 of the palettes
have been made.

ZOE SALDANA SHOWS HOW
THE CHIGNON CAN BE WORN
TO GLAMOROUS EFFECT
Temperatures are rising and
there’s nothing worse than
a curtain of hair to leave you
feeling hot and sweaty. Take a tip
from actress Zoe Saldana, recently
seen keeping her cool with this
chic, catwalk-inspired chignon.
Not spring/summer, though – that
wouldn’t be cool enough. Zoe’s lowkey
style debuted at autumn/
winter YSL, where models were
given low-key, mussed-up buns.
Stylist readers can stay on top
of the trends with this easy
step-by-step guide from L’Oréal’s
hair guru, Malcolm Edwards: “Tie
your hair into a knot at the crown
of your head and hold it in place
with a clear elastic band. If you
have long hair at the front,
brush it out and pull it back,
wrapping the loose strands
around the knot to hide the
elastic. It looks effortlessly
sexy and modern,” he
says. To ramp up the style,
spritz on a little L’Oréal
Texture Expert Sparkling
Mist, £13.70. “It adds
that glossy, movie-star
finish to your hair,”
says Edwards.

CARITA’S PRO LIFT
FIRMING FACIAL
Despite getting ID’d when buying
Pimm’s the other day, I’m sure my
deep (smile) lines make me look
older than my true age. So I packed
myself off to try the Pro Lift
Firming Facial at Spa Illuminata in
London, which promises to lift skin
that’s feeling the effects of gravity.
Claudia, the therapist, explained
that a build-up of thick creams had
left my pores clogged – hence the
dehydrated, lined skin. She set to
work opening said pores before

THE FACIALS REALLY
ARE ELECTRIFYING
CARITA PERFECT CREAM FOR
EYES AND LIPS, £90
bringing out
Carita’s secret
weapon: the Pro
Lift. This consists
of sponges, moistened with Carita
products to suit your skin type,
that zap your muscles with electric
currents. It smoothes fine lines and
tones tired skin. After treating half
my face (it didn’t hurt but felt odd
near my fillings), Claudia showed
me the result compared to the
non-treated side, my lines were less
deep set and the skin brighter. One
whole face later, I was radiant.
