The 40 Winks Hotel, housed in a Queen Anne building in London’s East End, is now running regular bedtime story nights.
Silk nighties, pyjamas and dressing gowns are compulsory, as guests snuggle down with a glass of wine to the sound of
their favourite ghostly tale. Guest readers have included Helena Bonham Carter and Julie Christie in the past, and this
month’s ghoulish theme is ‘stories to make you scream’. Not into spooky stories? Hold off until December, when you’ll get
a literary hit of Christmas fairy-tale magic.
