Insomniacs rejoice:
sleep spas are here
For most women, a decent night’s
kip is the Holy Grail. Not only does
it cut down on the need for
drastic make-up action, but a
recent study for the Archive Of
Internal Medicine found a direct
correlation between sleep and the
strength of the immune system.
Apparently, the better we sleep,
the more disease-fighting white
blood cells we produce. So imagine
our joy when we discovered that
pampering programmes devoted
to slumber are the latest spa
trend. In Surrey, the Grayshott Spa
“NOPE, STILL CAN’T SLEEP.
WONDER IF I COULD PICK THOSE
NIBBLES UP WITH MY TOES… ”
TV
has teamed up with Harley Street’s
London Sleep Centre to offer a
full body MOT and a psychological
assessment geared towards
targeting sleep issues (£795,
grayshottspa.com).
A little further afield is the
gorgeous Hospes Spa in Mallorca
(pictured), where a ‘learn to sleep’
programme combines massage
therapy, meditation and dietry
supplements to help banish daily
anxieties and address the issues
that prevent quality shut-eye
(£3,280 for four days, hospes.com).
Disconnect your door bell and hold
all calls – Spooks is back
Set the Sky Plus… After having us hooked for seven thrilling seasons, BBC One
spy drama Spooks is back on screen. The last episode of series seven finished with
Harry (Peter Firth) being bungled into a car by kidnappers, and this series kicks
off with his fellow spies frantically racing against time to save him. Stylist grilled
Hermione Norris, who plays the show’s Ros Meyers, for the inside story. “We’re
sent a tape of his apparent execution,” she tells us, “but we don’t know whether
it’s real or not.” The new series also sees the return of a familiar face. “Ruth
returns! Nicola Walker, who plays her, is wonderful. In her episode she’s on a
mission to hide some Uranium, but she gets captured by the baddies.”
The new series of Spooks starts 29 Oct on BBC One
