With all that space available at the V&A, it can’t have been easy deciding which architecturally jaw-dropping construction
to build first: a reading tower with more than 6,000 books; a tree-house elevated on stilts; or a series of narrow corridors.
The museum has commissioned architectural firms to explore the notion of personal space and everyday experience and
the result is a rather impressive exhibition of seven different ‘buildings’. Leading Japanese architect Terunobu Fujimori will
encourage visitors to gain a new perspective by climbing inside his wooden retreat via a ladder. He must be out of his tree…
