rom the return of
neon-coloured
batwing tops to
F our wardrobes
and the likes of
A-ha and The Smiths on our iPods,
the Eighties are back with a
vengeance. Now beauty companies
are getting in on the act too,
bringing back cult products by
popular demand and even releasing
new and improved versions of old
favourites too – spritz of Charlie,
anyone? If you’re planning a trip
down memory lane, stick some
vinyl on your stereo, grab yourself
a Babycham (or three) and play
dress-up with
some classic
products.
OPI’s Kinky in Helsinki and DC
Cherry Blossom Nail Varnishes
(£9.96) Re-released this year after a
flurry of devotees finally persuaded
OPI to unlock its varnish vault, these
deep red shades were hot to trot in
the late Eighties. Berry and wine hues
are the biggest colours this season,
making these classics the perfect
shade again. As always, OPI’s
formulation is the best around.
Retro products are making a comeback – Stylist picks the iconic
brands helping us relive our teenage beauty kicks
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter (£3.19),
available at Boots With its deeply
indulgent chocolate and coconut
scent, smothering yourself in Palmer’s
Cocoa Butter can take you back to
the first time you discovered the
ritual of bathing. Now they’ve upped
the ante with new scents (shea
butter, olive oil and coconut), swanky
packaging and a big injection of
anti-aging peptides.
Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore
Cleansing Masque (£25) Kiehl’s new
deep cleansing masque has precisely
the same grainy purifying texture as
those deeply penetrating mud masks
you used to buy in your youth from
Boots. This time around, though, it’s
a seriously punchy formula with
Amazonian white clay that gets
right into the skin and refines the
appearance of pores.

scent is set to grace pulse-points with
its herbaceous tones once more.

point we loved so much.
