Soho House launches London hotel
When you’ve got Soho House,
Babington House and Shoreditch
House in the family, you’ve got some
seriously swanky credentials to live
up to. Thankfully the latest offering
from the Soho House Group, the
Dean Street Townhouse, more than
honours the family name.
The hotel, bar and restaurant opens
in the heart of London’s Soho on 21
November. Each of the 39 bedrooms

of all, they start from a decidedly
reasonable £95 a night.
The hotel’s restaurant, The Dining
Room, is the perfect spot for festive
fodder and serves traditional English
grub such as Dorset crab, baked cod,
roast dinners and English scones. It

Cutting edge art on show
Artist Rob Ryan brings a whole new meaning to the term ‘paper cut’.
The London-based designer has been slashing through the world of
contemporary art with his unique creations since 2000, expertly cutting
paper into intricate masterpieces. His work is now being exhibited at the
Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield. His skill and imagination have led
to him being noticed across the globe, and he was commissioned by Time
magazine earlier this year to design its Green issue. If Yorkshire’s too far
to travel you can pick up a unique (and pain-free) paper cut from Ryan’s
shop on east London’s Columbia Road.

intimate Christmas party.
The Dean Street Townhouse isn’t
exclusive to members, so anyone can
stay. The laid-back bar will play soul,
blues, jazz and reggae and will no doubt
attract an exceedingly cool crowd.
